Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is a key team member supporting the development of the Physical Security System (PSS) for the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program (Minuteman III ICBM replacement) development contract.
The successful applicant will:
Provide subject matter expertise on Physical Security System design and development, concept of operation, user interface, testing, deployment, and maintenance
Ensure PSS design meets program specific requirements and Air Force and DoD general requirements, policies and procedures for security of nuclear weapons
Conduct studies and analyses of the Physical Security system and ancillary components
Develop models of the Physical Security system components
In addition to integrating with the PSS team, interface with other elements, and the system and segment level teams
Apply the principles of engineering to design components and systems using applicable standards and specifications
Support all phases of the systems lifecycle including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
Maintain design documentation and follow configuration management requirements

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline with minimum 5 years' experience, or 3 years' experience with Master's of Science degree in a STEM discipline; 0 years with a PhD
Active Secret Clearance with a recent (5 yr) background investigation
Familiarity with Access Control or Intrusion Detection systems
Active Top Secret Clearance
