BAE Systems Technical Documentation Specialist in Saint Inigoes, Maryland

Job Description

The selected candidate will have the following duties and responsibilities:

Performs administrative and record keeping tasks related to engineering and technical projects and programs. Applies knowledge of office management, methods, and procedures in producing and maintaining documentation, correspondence, records, or directives. Typical duties include: assisting in a variety of administrative matters, maintaining a wide variety of records (stored electronically), verifying statistical reports for accuracy and completeness, and compiling information.

Processes new and/or revised Technical Documentation which includes Engineering Drawings, Field Change Bulletins (FCBs), System Operation Verification Test (SOVT), Trouble Reports (TRs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and other documentation that require configuration control by entering them into appropriate database for tracking purposes and maintaining positive control for timely routing for review by the appropriate team members.

Processes final Engineering Drawings, TRs and ECOs, creates pdf files, and enters files into ADEPT database, reviewing technical data and submitting document status reports to program management as required.

Tracks Engineering Drawings, TRs and ECOs associated with all Air Traffic Control systems. Updating ECO/TR databases, creating pdf files from Microsoft Word docs and/or scans and electronic filing of documents by appropriate system.

Updates ECO/TR database lists for all contracts/systems and providing weekly TR metrics reports showing required information, including number of TRs that has been submitted during the reporting week, status, priority, etc.

Requests document status updates from reviewers and communicating status changes with program management as necessary.

Will be required to perform additional responsibilities as assigned and assist other team members as tasked.

Local travel may be required.

This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.

There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.

Required Skills and Education

Associate degree from an accredited school and two years of experience (additional four years of experience can be substituted for the degree)

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel)

Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills

Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance

Filing and organization of hard and/or soft copies of technical documents

Running ad hoc reports from various databases as required/requested

Recording meeting minutes and action items

Organizational skills in an office environment

Working both independently and in a team environment

Preferred Skills and Education

Familiarity with Air Traffic Control systems

Proficiency with Microsoft Access
