Overview:

To help create the future of surgery, we are building a best-in-class team and are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to lead a team of technicians and assemblers in our manufacturing facility. The Production Supervisor will be tasked with providing the day to day guidance and oversight needed to ensure that processes are performed in accordance with current Manufacturing Process Instructions. The Production Supervisor will also be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of quality, and preparing their teammates for growth within the company.

Core Job Responsibilities - (Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following):

  • Supervise production and pilot lines and coordinate the scheduling of people, materials and equipment.

  • Accountable for achieving production targets while maintaining cost controls.

  • Perform all personnel-related functions related to the production assembly staff and electronics testers, including hiring, training and performance evaluations.

  • Partner with manufacturing, quality, and process engineering departments to facilitate and resolve production-related issues.

  • Understand, prepare and report on production metrics for your area of responsibility.

  • Audit and ensure work areas, processes and documentation are in compliance with ISO, FDA and internal regulations.

  • Maintain a safe and hygienic work environment.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives. Champion 5S program.

  • Ensure staff has been trained and is qualified to perform their assigned task on the line.

  • Oversee material transactions and cycle counting for raw material, sub-assemblies and work-in-progress material on the line. Report shortages to the Production Manager and initiate material investigations.

  • Initiate non-conformance reports to the material review board. Review and disposition discrepant material. Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrences.

  • Follow all corporate, regulatory, safety, and production policies and procedures

  • Execute additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Required: Vocational training, technical certification, or AA or AS degree or equivalent.

  • A minimum of 6 years of related production assembly and leadership experience, preferably with complex medical or similar capital equipment is required.

  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience is preferred.

  • Strong working knowledge of GMP, Lean Manufacturing, DFT, and 6 Sigma is required.

  • Proficient in the use of personal computers to perform daily work. Familiar with the Microsoft Office suite of programs, G Suite, and MRP systems. SAP, QAD and Agile experience preferred

  • Comprehension in reading mechanical drawings and controls is required.

  • Experience with service or design/manufacturing of field maintainable and upgradable equipment is required.

  • Ability to work within a cross-functional team with diverse background and areas of expertise

  • Familiarity with anti-static/ESD principles and controls is required.

  • Strong professionalism with good interpersonal communication skills

  • Excellent verbal and technical written communication

Physical Demands and Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Using personal protective equipment to perform work when required

  • Lifting and moving products up to 50 lbs. in weight

  • Frequent sitting, standing, bending, reaching above the head, kneeling, crouching, walking and/or stretching during the duration of a shift

  • Pushing and pulling product up to 50 lbs. in weight during the duration of a shift

  • Manual dexterity of both hands and wrists

Work Environment

This role requires Production Supervisor to work in a manufacturing floor with industrial equipment and fixtures or in professional warehouse environment. All personnel must abide by applicable PPE and ESD controls as defined by operating instructions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. In addition, use of ladders, pallet jacks, trollies, mechanical lifts and electronic pallet stacker may be required.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, work hours may vary between 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This role is based in Santa Clara, but travel to Redwood facility may be required at times to support other manufacturing or warehouse operations.
