Job Description:
The purpose of this position is to provide technical manufacturing training support related to the manufacturing of Caterpillar Diesel Engine core components. Manufacturing Specialists report to the Quality Supervisor and will be assigned to Quality department to meet customer and company demands. Work is performed in a fast-paced manufacturing and production environment. Work requires possible exposure to all temperature changes, high noise levels, working around moving equipment, electrical hazards, tanks, heights, fumes, chemicals, vibrations, dust, etc. Working hours must be flexible with the ability to work on all shifts and extended hours as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs duties assigned within the Engineering department including but not limited to:
Help develop training process for New Hire and Hourly TM’s
Create and maintain standard operating training procedures and training specific work instructions
Perform training process audits to ensure quality control of practices and procedures are followed
Submit and assist with the resolution of C.P.S. Continuous Improvement cards
Maintain a safe and clean training environment
Position supports both Schertz and San Antonio locations
All other duties as assigned
Basic Requirements:
Experience with manufacturing and machining processes
Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
Experience with mechanical products and components
Basic understanding of Prints Reading, Standard Work and Work Instructions/Inspection Sheets
High School Diploma or GED Degree
6 months in current position
Desirable Qualifications:
Leadership experience
6 sigma or CPS Green belt
Familiarity with hand gauging
Self-starter
Experience with Plex
Additional Information:
This position is in Schertz. May also work at our San Antonio facility
Starting pay is $15.50 per hour
Relocation reimbursement is not offered for this position.
