BAE Systems Cloud Systems Administrator in Suitland, Maryland
Job Description
This BAE Systems program supports our U.S. Coast Guard customer who plays a key role in providing information-engineering support. This program provides systems and engineering, integration and operations and maintenance support. The program is an evolving environment as the customer migrates to the cloud.As the Cloud Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for a complex and important technical environment that is transitioning services and supporting operations providing critical insights to multiple cloud environments. The duties include setting implementation standards for the daily oversight and support of the cloud-based system, planning and delivering administrator services to monitoring system services delivered to the US Coast Guard (USCG).
You will be responsible for all aspects of the systems administration of an intelligence system that USCG uses to help safeguard our nation. Duties include:
Instrumenting and monitoring systems to support a product that meets the mission needs of the USCG and delivers its intelligence capabilities to the people who need it most.
Working with innovative technologies in an agile and dynamic environment to provide critical services.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Active Top Secret Clearance and SCI Eligible
Bachelor's Degree or higher in an Technical Discipline (or equivalent)
Minimum 6 years experience in Systems Administration.
Experience in Linux and Windows Administration
Experienced Systems Administrator with experience deploying/maintaining computer systems running Windows Server 2012-2016, and Redhat Enterprise Linux 6-7 operating systems.
Experience with Virtualization Hypervisor s On-Prem and in a Cloud environment/preferably AWS. Experience should include not only deploying the systems, but demonstrated, understanding of TCP/IP principles, subnetting, routing and switching in the cloud environment.
Ability to perform troubleshooting of machine computer systems to determine root-cause of resource over-utilization, inability to contact networking, failed application starts, or hung processes.
Demonstrate a good knowledge of the utilities available to perform standard troubleshooting in the above listed operating systems.
Performing network-troubleshooting activities, to determine the cause of network related issues and an understanding of common tools and practices is preferable.
Able to pass a Criminal Investigation Polygraph (will be administered within one month of start)
Minimum IATT LVL II (e.g. Security certification). Current or obtained within six months of start.
