Position Summary:

The Associate Director, Medical Information &Knowledge Integration position, provides scientific knowledge support through expertise in company products and related therapeutic areas. As the primary contact for provision of Medical Information, the Associate Director uses their keen understanding of the science and our products to guide internal business partners and to identify and use actionable customer insights to address scientific and communication gaps and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides medical guidance for development and scientific review of promotional and brand materials. Serves as the key contact for provision of Medical Information for promotional review committees. Develops medical information tools including standard replies, formulary dossiers, slide decks and presentations in support of customer needs. Provides Medical Information support at major scientific meetings.

  • Conducts In-depth analysis of data – Monitors the medical literature/ compendia for operating company products and competitor data; analyzes the information for accuracy/relevance and notifies key partners. Analyzes voice of customer data to identify unmet needs/data gaps to address scientific and communication gaps and customer needs.

  • Develops Strategic Concepts – Participates in multidisciplinary therapeutic area teams; contributes to functional strategic plan in support of therapeutic area. Leverages clinical knowledge and expertise to direct the review and identification of emerging trends and scientific intelligence, relevant for each audience and works collaboratively to develop innovative solutions

  • Manages Medical Information projects - Leads new product launch support. Develops tools for innovative delivery of information.

  • Assures quality of Medical Information training materials – Develops and maintains departmental training curriculum; supports sales training initiatives and actively trains the Medical Information Call Center (MICC) team.

  • Mentors development of teams’ therapeutic knowledge. Provides initial and ongoing training of new hires and students/fellows.

  • Handles advanced scientific inquiries – Applies scientific and therapeutic area knowledge to respond to escalated, non-standard, and after hours medical information inquiries.

Qualifications

Required:

  • An advanced degree (e.g., PharmD., MPH, MD)

  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in Medical Information

  • Proven ability to integrate scientific data, healthcare trends, and voice of customer to provide strategic application of insights to the business

  • Working knowledge of United States health care systems and customers

  • Demonstrated excellence in leadership, including:

  • Collaboration and teaming

  • Influencing and negotiating

  • Relationship building

  • Critical thinking

Preferred:

  • Expertise in the healthcare industry with clinical knowledge in the cardiovascular therapuetic area preferred.

  • Specific understanding of business models and perspectives of managed care and public sector

    Other:

  • This position will require up to 15% domestic travel.

  • Position is located in Titusville, NJ
