This role is located in our modern Nashville Metro Center office, located just minutes from downtown with easy interstate access and free parking.
Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs new and existing software systems and/or applications (cloud and/or in-house), with focus on manufacturing systems. Serves as technical expert on development projects. Participates in full development life cycle including requirements analysis and design. Writes technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements. Supports, maintains, and documents software functionality. Identifies and evaluates new technologies for implementation. Career-Development position within field and receives moderate level of guidance.
Role Specific Responsibilities
Work closely with engineers, designers, and leadership to build, test, and deploy new features and products, creating the most effective and efficient applications with well-documented code
Implement security and data protection, and monitors and reduces cyber security risk.
Conducts tasks and assignments as directed. Works under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment
Meets with stakeholders regarding application development tasks, which will include externally integrated partners
Develops against requirements within set timeframes
Collaborates with other team members to guide Standards and Procedures as well as enforcing them in own code
Producing high quality reusable software that will facilitate growth and shorten future development times and requirements
Estimates development effort against requirement breakdowns to determine the timelines to complete development, testing and delivery
Participates in business meetings to provide feedback regarding issues in production environment
Collaborates in design and requirements breakdown with other teams and members
Participates in team code reviews and meetings
Perform other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related preferred. Candidates with equivalent years of related IT experience, certifications, and education also considered.
3+ years of professional experience with full lifecycle development and support, with a focus on manufacturing applications and integrations preferred
Requires advanced skill sets and developing proficiency within discipline.
Must have website and web application development using Microsoft development stack experience (C#, ASP.Net, MVC, Webforms, Web Services, Windows Services, etc.)
Proficiency in server, network, hosting environments, manufacturing applications and integration, relational and non-relational databases, how to interact with APIs, user interface/experience, quality assurance, version control systems, and security
Understanding and use of web service technologies, such as classic SOAP, REST, and JSON
Knowledge of SAP integration tools (SAP .Net Connector, BAPIs, Function Modules) is a plus
Knowledge or working experience with factory automation systems
Requires strong communication skills to interact with organizational resources (Developers, Analysts, Users)
Requires Root Cause Analysis, Problem Solving and Critical Thinking skills to develop creative solutions
Requires Organizational abilities to manage competing priorities and parallel tasks
Presentation and Training/Mentoring skills are a plus
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Related Field
High School Diploma or GED
Years of Experience
Minimum of 3 years of related work experience or training
