UnitedHealth Group Senior Patient Care Coordinator - Work From Home in Washington, District Of Columbia

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm.

We offer 2 weeks of paid training, job shadowing: a lead and then peers and one on one training. The hours during training will be 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday - Friday. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates a high level of customer service behavior at all times

  • Participates in quality monitoring process

  • Daily admission and discharge review and communicate with clinical team

  • Monitor risk level change queues in EMR

  • Assign members to clinicians

  • Answer in bound member calls

  • Monitor market line mailbox

  • Expedites emergency calls as needed

  • Attends regular staff meetings as scheduled

  • Maintains confidential health information according to state and federal regulations including HIPAA.

  • Responsible to assist with gathering and organizing of appropriate medical records (e.g. history and physical, lab work, test results)

  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)

  • 2+ years of experience and knowledge of medical terminology

  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare or customer service

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook (ability to create, copy, edit, send, and save documents and emails)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (must be able to manipulate data, move columns and rows, remove data, match data between spreadsheets)

  • Ability to type 25+ WPM

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in the healthcare system and with medical documentation

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Reside within state of Washington DC

  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)

  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
