Join our team as a Sr Electrical Test Engineer. ## Job Summary Demonstrates in depth conceptual and practical knowledge in vehicle measurements and data acquisition in support of product and systems engineering, advanced innovation, long term technology development and quality initiatives within Product Development Engineering. Coordinates and executes various regulatory testing that enables Harley-Davidson Motor Company to support the world-wide availability of its products. ## Job Responsibilities * Communicate electrical component test process requirements to stakeholders, including development teams, suppliers, and external test laboratories. * Highlight areas where changes are needed to align development teams, H-D supply base management and supplier contracts with new process. * Co-develop and review electrical component test plans with development team and suppliers in accordance with H-D test standards and guidelines. * Request, compile and review test quotes from external H-D approved test laboratories. * Provide status of test plans, test execution and test results across the organization and to suppliers. * Review test results for technical accuracy and communicate findings. * Maintain database of electrical component test plans submitted for approval, status of test plan, and approved test plans by functional area / supplier. * Maintain database of electrical component test reports by functional area / supplier. ## Education Requirements Bachelor's Degree Required ## Education Specifications * Position requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or other related technical degree. ## Experience Requirements Five years of experience is required. Test Development & Execution (development, durability, certification) * Has developed test methods in support of vehicle testing. Knowledge of national and international test standards as applied to electrical components, systems, and vehicles. Analysis of test results to provide decision ready information * Has checked test data for quality and accuracy (spike detection, drop-outs, over scaling, etc.). Can output data from a variety of system formats into basic charts & plots. Data acquisition systems and techniques * Basic working knowledge of data acquisition systems and techniques. Able to evaluate test data and make decisions to its integrity. Test Instrumentation * Has independently and successfully applied instrumentation tools and techniques during project execution. Has provided high quality test data through detailed understanding of transducer designs, calibration, limitations, and their appropriate usage. Electrical Test Procedure Development * Has adapted proven test methods to validate electrical component/system performance and functionality. Demonstrated ability in recommending new tools to expand test capabilities. Failure Analysis and Reporting (including test databases and/or advanced techniques) * Proficient in the use of data analysis tools for data mining and reporting processes. Full Vehicle Electrical Systems Testing * Has conducted wide variety of tests on vehicle electrical systems using appropriate test standards and equipment. Project Management * Understands project management tools and principles (in topics such as requirements, scheduling, risk and issues, budget, and metrics) through training and experience. Efficiently executes prescribed project management processes with minimal coaching.
