Reporting to Pratt & Whitney Compression Systems Engineering group the Design Technical Leader works on the Operational Military Engines Fan/HPC Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT).

In this role, you will take design leadership roles in complex and high priority tasks and will mentor and develop entry and mid-level design engineers. This position requires proven technical capabilities, leadership, excellent communication skills, and well-rounded general design engineering skills.

As a Design Technical Leader you will:

  • Act as the design lead for investigation of military engine field incidents reported by USAF customer leading to root cause and corrective action.

  • Lead producibility improvement investigations at various vendors.

  • Perform engineering first piece reviews at vendor locations for new and cold start parts.

  • Assist in creation of safety risk analysis and develop risk mitigation plans.

  • Process Class 1 & 2 engineering changes

  • Disposition or PL3 approval of quality non-conformances (QNs) for new parts, and supplier requests for information (SRI’s).

10% travel is expected

Qualification:

Required Qualifications:

  • BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

  • 7+ years experience in jet engine design

  • US Citizenship required due to program requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters in Engineering

  • Rotating hardware and airfoil experience

  • Working knowledge of Unigraphics and Teamcenter

  • ANSYS experience

  • Familiarity with engineering standard work, Class I and II EC process

  • Proficiency with SAP

  • Experience with fault tree investigation.

  • Excellent Judgment and professional maturity

  • The ability to build positive relationships and craft clear communication
